photographing, cooking, laughing through life

After much controversy, today in Emporia there was a ribbon cutting for the entrance monuments that were built for the city. So, I thought I would check them out for myself…and actually (even though I don’t love the font choice) they aren’t too bad.

Welcome to Emporia

Welcome to Emporia

It is nice to have a sign welcoming people to the community and we have something to be proud of here because we were chosen as one of the top six most patriotic cities in the U.S. The people from Rand McNally have been in town the last two days checking out Emporia and seeing what we’re all about.  If you want to add your voice to the discussion, go to and vote for Emporia.

I wondered what they looked like.

It is nice to have a formal welcome to the city. I agree on the font. It looks unfinished. Do you think they could finish off the P, O, R and A?
