And so it begins…
Tomorrow marks the end of summer and the start of another school year (well, for teachers–kids still get a few more days). It is hard to believe that I am starting my 10th (gasp!) year of teaching. This year will be full of a lot of new and exciting adventures for me. Obviously taking on the extra duty of becoming the JV volleyball coach comes with a lot of unknowns. However, I am super excited to get started working with the girls and having a great season. Changes will also abound in the classroom. Obviously there are new students each year and new leaders in my production classes. One big change we will face in the production classes comes from the fact that we have both new computers (thanks business department) and new programs (finally upgraded to CS5!). We also have some new chairs for the computers (again, thanks to the business ladies) and I’ve rearranged my classroom too. Then there are changes in the schedule – I & E every day – with an entire group of new students (and moved to the end of the day) – and an additional class for every teacher. Luckily my “new” class is an additional section of yearbook so the class size is much more manageable. I’m also now a member of our school’s BLT (Building Leadership Team – NOT Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato). However, probably the most noticeable change in the school is our freshly painted walls. It gives the phrase “fresh start” a whole new meaning!
Looks too white. Are they going to let them put posters on them?
