photographing, cooking, laughing through life

Today I made my third trip in three days to Topeka. The trip started with an early birthday lunch at Paisano’s to celebrate Sara’s birthday (tomorrow) and then we all headed to see my cousin Chad’s Eagle Scout ceremony. The ceremony was very nice – it had been awhile since I had been to one of the ceremonies. There were the touching family moments, talking about how important the family is to achieving the rank of eagle scout.

There were also several speeches, all culminating in Chad’s speech. I was pretty impressed with how well Chad’s speech was and I was also impressed how he left a small part of the speech to remember those who lost their lives in the tragedy of 9-11-2001 and those who have lost their lives since that day in defense of our country. All in all it was a very nice time to honor Chad and also spend a little time with my family.

Congratulations Chad!

Congratulations Chad!
