A day with Becs and me. #79
I wish the “god’s of scheduling” could figure out that everyone should have spring break at the same time. With Sara and I having different weeks for spring break, last week she and Rebecca came here and this week I came up to KC. Today, when Sara headed off to work, Becs and I started out a fun filled day. After heading to breakfast at McDonald’s (sadly there weren’t any other kids to play on the “playground” with her) we headed to Leawood to go shopping at Trader Joe’s. Since the new store opened near the Town Center Plaza shopping area I’ve wanted to go there soooo badly. Becs had a blast pushing the cart that is her size and even got some stickers to pass out.
Then we headed to Barnes and Noble so Rebecca could play with the trains and I could read a little. Luckily there was a boy named Parker there so Rebecca had someone more exciting than me to play trains with.
After Barnes and Noble we went to the Vera Bradley store and got Sara a new purse before heading to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. I asked Rebecca if she wanted the place where she gets to use chopsticks (Pei Wei) or the place where she can get her own ice cream (Sweet Tomatoes) and the sweet tooth won out. She said “tomorrow we can go to the chopstick place…” oh to be 4 when things are so simple. Then it was time to go look for some stuff for my mom before heading to the Johnson County Museum.
At the museum, Rebecca had a blast. They have a fun Kidscape location where there are different rooms for kids to play in. It is set up like an old time main-street. There is a park, a doctor’s office, a “boutique” a library, a construction area and a theatre. Rebecca mostly bounced between playing golf and fishing and then going to the theatre to perform. She had so much fun that when it was time to leave she was not impressed…and let everyone know it. Luckily we made it out of there and back to Sara’s where we played some more. All in all I think she had a good day and I sure had fun hanging out with her.
