I Know That My Redeemer Lives. #98

“He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed.” The sound of this saying filled the church this morning as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, however church in the sanctuary was not how this Easter started. It started as it has the last 25 (or so) years…with Easter sunrise service at Jones Park.  It was a gorgeous (if a little cold) morning and we had a nice sunrise service.  We sang songs, listened to the gospel and a sermon and watched the sun rise, right as we finished the final hymn. Then at church, we sang some of my favorites (one is the title of this post) and the other was the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.  So glad that we sang it this year! Although I love the hymns of lent (they are alto friendly) I’m glad the “Alleluias” are back out!
