Birthday, graduation and cake, oh my! #125

Today was a FULL day…it is Rebecca’s 5th birthday and her graduation from preschool.  The day started out well, with breakfast out…McDonald’s, Rebecca’s choice. Then I took her to school…did some errands, wrapped some presents, and picked her up from school around 3.  When we got to the house, it was supper time, some present opening and then preparing for graduation.

Graduation was held at Basehor-Linwood High School, and as soon as we walked in, we realized how extremely hot it was in there…no AC! Well, the kids came in, in their caps and gowns and started the “show.” They sang some songs and said the Pledge of Allegiance…

And then we realized that Rebecca was fading fast. It was just TOO hot…that and the excitement of graduation and birthday was not a good combination! We ended up taking of Rebecca’s cap and gown (and socks) so she could cool off, and she returned to the stage to finish out the ceremony.  During the diplomas, the kids had to say their initials and many of them SCREAMED into the microphones, which the other kids found HILARIOUS!

After the graduation, we headed to “Nana’s” house for a birthday party. She did a great job blowing out the candles…

Then it was time for presents…the most exciting one…a scooter!
