I Miss Manhattan!!

For most people, where they went to college holds a special place for them.  For four years (or for some, a few more than four) that place is your home.  It’s the place where you were on your own for the first time, the place you met your lifelong friends and the place where you essentially became the person you are today.  For me, that place is Manhattan.

Due to lots of conflicts during football season this year – weddings/volleyball games – I only made it to one home football game (which is unheard of for me).  So, the last time I was in Manhattan was September 14…which is FOREVER ago. Today, I made it back! My sister and I headed to the Hat for the K-State/Oklahoma State basketball game.

We, of course, headed to a few stores before going to the game.  I got some yarn for a new afghan at Hobby Lobby (K-State colors of course), we got some bowl sweatshirts at Greek to Me – and then we headed to lunch.  Sara and I have our standard Manhattan places we go – usually we end up at Willie’s, but today we decided to try somewhere new: Powercat Sports Grill.  The service was good – and the atmosphere was great! It may be one of those places that makes it into our normal rotation! We did a little more shopping – Target/Varneys – and then headed to Bramlage for the game.

The Cats were taking on the OSU Cowboys – a team ranked #6 in the country – so we knew the team would have to bring it today – and boy, did they.  What a great game!! Love that we have a team that works together! I also love that K-State has the “family” mentality.  The Cats won 74-71 – and we stepped outside after the game into…SNOW! Unfortunately, that meant that we had to cut our visit to Manhattan a little short, but it was so great to be back.

They say “Home is where the heart is” and one of my homes will always be Manhattan.  So happy that I made K-State my college of choice and that I am part of the K-State family forever.  I couldn’t have picked a better place to call home.
